NBC Taking Over the Lady Liberty (We Will Try) August 8
Heres a fun cruising itinerary announcement for the Nyack Boat Club fleet:
NBC Taking Over the Lady Liberty (We Will Try) August 8
Calling all NBC cruisers, adventurers, navigators, drifters, and optimists.
The plan is simple: depart from the NBC mooring field on the afternoon of August 8th and head south toward Lady Liberty for an evening anchorage with the Manhattan skyline as our backdrop. Timing will depend on tides, currents, weather, mechanical confidence, and the overall mood of the crew.
Our goal is to arrive just before sunset, drop anchor, enjoy cocktails, snacks, storytelling, and admire New York Harbor in full summer glory. Members are welcome to overnight at anchor if conditions cooperate. Others may return with the tide, common sense, or sudden fear.
There is no official sign-up sheet, no RSVP, and very little structure. Just show up with your boat, crew, provisions, and a flexible attitude.
As always, the event is entirely weather dependent and subject to cancellation, diversion, delay, or spontaneous brilliance.
Fair winds and questionable planning.
