USCG Auxiliary Vessel Check

These inspections are completely voluntary. There are:
- No fines
- No penalties
- No reports to law enforcement
- No downside if your boat does not pass
The goal is simply to help all of us identify potential safety issues before they become problems on the water.
The most common issues found during inspections are:
- Expired flares
- Out-of-date or non-compliant fire extinguishers
We encourage all boat owners to take advantage of this free service. Boats that pass receive the current Vessel Safety Check decal showing compliance with federal and state safety requirements.
