Sail With Us
We offer the Ideal Sailing Program to general members and season members, where you can sail, or learn to sail, on our Club-owned Ideal 18 sailboats. A great option for beginners or experienced sailors to get on the water without the hassle of owning and maintaining a boat.
All member can join Sunset Sailing, a program for people who do not own a sailboat yet want to discover sailing, or for boatowners (or their partners) to gain greater experience and confidence on the water. The program meets once a week, Thursday evenings, in June and July. The program is hosted on members' boats led by some of the Club's most experienced skippers. You'll spend the evening sailing and discussing wind direction & points of sail, upwind & downwind sailing, tacking & jibbing, picking up & leaving a mooring, man over board procedures, and sailing Rules of the Road.
Since 1969, our Junior Sailing Program has trained generations of young people to sail. The program emphasizes not only nautical skills, but equally important lessons in safety, responsibility, and personal achievement, instilling values that extend far beyond sailing. For children ages 8 and older.
Our member skippers recruit crew for racing and cruising -- experienced sailors and novices, members and non-members alike. Simply create register for an account by visiting signup. Once logged in, you can visit the Crew Finder, input your availability, and see boats seeking crew. And, during the season, come to our Club our patio on a Wednesday race night between 5:00 and 5:30 and check in with our crew desk who will do their best to get you on a boat. See the racing schedule on our Calendar.
From time to time we offer Sunday Sailing as a "First Sail" opportunity. Members of the public are invited to visit the club on select Sunday mornings and sail aboard a member's cruising boat. You may participate in crewing the boat or just sit back and enjoy the ride.
